The main rule when learning any foreign language is to be interesting. Of course, no one canceled the grammar assignments, but you can add something special to the educational process. Various games are suitable: from Twister to scanwords, movies and cartoons in the original language and, of course, books. A fascinating story is the best motivator for a child to learn unknown words. Together with the JustKids online English school for children, we have prepared a selection of books that we recommend to start learning English.
There are three main reasons why you should buy your child several books in English:
Reading increases vocabulary
As a rule, phrases and vocabulary are constantly repeated in children's books, which makes it easier to memorize both the words themselves and grammatical structures. Beautiful pictures, a fascinating plot - and the child can no longer be taken away from the book.
Reading broadens your horizons
On the pages of books you can learn about different parts of the world, all kinds of animals, corners of the planet, get acquainted with professions and much more. Plus, most of the stories are instructive, reminding toddlers of the importance of remembering kindness.
Reading improves spelling
Usually, kids begin to get acquainted with books even before they can write. But visual perception of letters and words will help the child remember what sentences are made of and what they look like.
The going to bed book by Sandra Boyton

A small book perfect for bedtime reading. There is everything that children love so much: rhyme that they want to repeat, jokes and wonderful pictures. The heroes of this story are animals preparing for bed: they reconcile pajamas, brush their teeth and lie down in bed.

Where's Spot? by Eric Hill
This book will help you learn the names of places and objects in the house, as well as the simplest prepositions. According to the plot, before lunch, Spot's puppy is lost, and Sally's mother starts looking for him everywhere. The kids will surely like the book itself - in the paper version it has pages-doors, and the cute hero of the story himself.
Where's Spot?
Is he ON the piano?
If the child likes the story of the search for the missing Spot, then you can practice looking in English for some objects in life. For example, hide toys in different places around the house and invite your child to guess where they are.

Dear zoo by Rod Campbell
In this book, the baby learns many new words: both the names of animals and their characteristics. This is a story about how one child goes to the zoo with a request to send him someone as a pet. The zoo sometimes sends a giraffe, but it is too long, sometimes too big an elephant. The book ends with the boy finally getting a puppy.
They sent me an elephant - He was too big. I sent him back
This story is over 35 years old and has been on Amazon's bestseller list. The paper book has the ability to open "boxes", i.e. paper doors and find animals there - so reading fascinating stories about animals will surely please the youngest students.

From head to toe by Eric Carle
Children love this book, because you can sing the words from it, and also do everything about what is written there. So we advise you to do morning exercises based on this story.
The book will teach kids the constructions "I am", "I can do", "Can you do?" - they are repeated many times in the work. They will also remember the names of animals and their characteristic movements.
