Recently, diets and nutrition systems are often promoted, in the diet of which there are a lot of smoothies and freshly squeezed juices. Are they really that useful? Let's figure it out together with nutritionist and blogger Polina Vysotskaya (@ pugovi4ka_food)!
1. Does smoothie replace meals?
This is, for the most part, fiction. Yes, in terms of calorie content, smoothies can really be considered a full meal. But because you don't chew your food, there is no signal to your brain that you are full. Therefore, you can consume enough calories, but very quickly want to eat again.
2. Is smoothie healthier than a glass of freshly squeezed juice?
It's true. The main plus of smoothies, unlike juice, is that they retain fiber from vegetables and fruits. Fiber juices are deprived, turning into a regular fast carbohydrate.

3. Are smoothies healthier than fruits?
If you want to benefit from any type of fruit, it is best to eat it whole rather than grind it. But if you add greens to the smoothie, the benefits increase significantly. And it is in this form that greens will be absorbed much better.
4. Is smoothie a low calorie drink?
In fact, not every smoothie is low in calories. Indeed, many smoothies include products such as avocado, banana, honey. Of course, they are useful, but at the same time they are very high in calories. These smoothies cannot be called dietary ones.

5. Is breakfast the best time for a smoothie?
This is not true. Most fruits on an empty stomach can cause acidity. The best time for a smoothie is lunch or afternoon tea.
