And the oil of this plant is added to cosmetics, which give a double effect - aromatherapy and care. What we all need now. Lavender for facial skin care

- Lavender essential oil has been used in cosmetology for thousands of years. But nowadays it is mixed with a certain set of ingredients that give one or another effect. Most often, lavender is added to anti-aging products, since it has pronounced moisturizing and nourishing properties, improves blood microcirculation.
In addition to its anti-aging effect, lavender oil has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, so it can be found in cleansing lotions and toners. Usually lavender products are suitable for all skin types. But often this ingredient is used alone to create formulas designed to care for oily or problem skin, prone to inflammation, and acne. This ingredient also restores skin and relieves irritation.
At the same time, the expert noted that products with lavender do not have to be applied continuously. The best results for the skin are noticeable with the right combination and alternation. It is also interesting that lavender oil is rarely the main ingredient in facial products. For example, in Santal Face Treatment Oil, Clarins, we also found sandalwood, cardamom and hazelnut oils; and the ESPA night mask also contains ylang-ylang and cedarwood oils.
Body care lavender
But in body products, lavender oil usually acts as the main ingredient. It is added to moisturizing and nourishing balms, creams and lotions. Also, this component can be contained in medicated creams for the care of dry skin of the feet. Most importantly, the plant's soothing and relaxing scent. The manufacturer sometimes advises using the product before bed to calm down, relieve anxiety and tune in to a night's rest. No wonder Aveda has a line with lavender called Stress fix ("eliminating stress").
Lavender in hair care
As part of hair care products, as explained by the cosmetologist and trichologist Elena Filippova, lavender oil gives a pronounced antiseptic and moisturizing effect, eliminates scalp flaking. It is also used in products to stimulate hair growth.
Contraindications
Like any natural oil, lavender oil can cause allergies. Before using any product (especially on the face), it is worth testing it on an inconspicuous area of the skin (for example, on the wrist). Also, our expert advised to refrain from lavender remedies in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy. In addition, lavender should be used carefully (preferably after consulting a doctor) for people with low blood pressure and people with serious nervous disorders.
