Dasha, you write about everything: cosmetic innovations, the emergence of new brands, the rules for dry skin care, meeting creative people and even food. How can you describe your telegram channel yourself?
I would rather call my channel a personal blog, because I publish everything that I consider necessary there: notes about work, cosmetics, food, animals. I do not have a clear structure and calendar - I write when I want to share something important to me.
Even if I take cosmetic products for testing, I immediately warn you that the review will be honest. And I only test what I can - for example, I haven't used makeup for a long time. Therefore, most often I ask you to send me one thing for a review, which I will definitely try and be able to honestly tell about this tool and its properties.
Doesn't this approach confuse pr-managers?
Most often, brands agree with my decision, but there are times when I am asked to write specific information or remove some negative. Then we say goodbye even before testing. But I am glad that there are very few such situations - more often brands are happy with different points of view.
Tell us about the very idea of creating a channel - how did you come to this idea?
I've always wanted to share what I liked or didn't like. And, instead of writing one note at a time, I decided to start a channel - to be honest, I did not even expect that it would be so extensive. But I can say for sure that nothing has changed over the entire period of its existence - I also write about what interests me.
I am always happy when they answer me: "I tried it too, it was worth it!"
Why did you choose Telegram, and not Instagram, for example?
In the Telegram space, I like the fact that posts are not lost in the feed. Also, there is no way to write comments. I am always glad to receive feedback, and in my profile there is a link to an account to communicate with me. But comments are often not only private messages, but also spam that would eventually seep into the blog - I don't like that.
Was it difficult to develop your blog at the very beginning?
To be honest, I never developed it in any way - I just dropped links to my friends, and also got acquainted with other authors.
Dasha, do you yourself like to read Telegram channels?
Oh sure. Everyone I follow (and there are dozens of them!) Are my favorites. I can't even name any specific ones or list them.
Can you tell us what topics are interesting to you?
I am a plastic make-up artist, therefore, first of all, it is interesting for me to read about this. It is curious that this topic is closely related to the beauty sphere, because before applying the plastic, it is important to properly prepare the skin (and sometimes hair) of the actor. Also, when working with chemicals, I often face problems such as dryness, irritation and burns, so I am interested and need to know about leaving.
Dasha, what is a source of inspiration for you - what energizes?
I am inspired by the works of other masters - when I look at them, only one thought sounds in my head: “I want to be able to do the same!”. Because work is my main source of inspiration! I like to set new goals and create something new. In general, I think that the most important thing in my life is art.
How long does it take you to work on a Telegram channel?
Usually, I test new tools for at least 2 weeks, at the same time writing down all my feelings and thoughts in a notebook on my phone. Then I collect notes in one post.
Sometimes it happens that a tool can be described in just one sentence - this is also good, because the testing was successful.
And there are also long materials - longreads, in which I write about the pros and cons of the product that I discovered.
Did you have to sacrifice other hobbies for the blog?
Rather, on the contrary, I often have to sacrifice the channel, because there is no time left for it. Sometimes I get so tired after work that I seem to want to write something, but physically I cannot get the phone.
Dasha, you write a lot about cosmetics, but do you have any favorite products that you buy over and over again?
Probably my favorite beauty products are Pure Paw Paw Balms, Kiehl's Alcohol Toner, Uriage Hyseac 3-Regul, OMG Sheet Masks! Kiehl's Double Dare and Moisturizing Overnight Mask - I buy and renew them regularly.
