The chemical composition of sea water is close to the composition of the intercellular fluid of our body. It contains ions of potassium, bromine, iodine, magnesium, chlorine and other micro- and macroelements that have a beneficial effect on the functioning of internal organs, respiratory, nervous, endocrine and cardiovascular systems, and the musculoskeletal system. Salt water also improves skin condition (by the way, we recently talked about this here) and even helps with dermatological diseases. These and other reasons to get out to sea this summer - in the BeaytyHack compilation.
Fact # 1: the sea improves brain function

Even a screensaver on your desktop with a view of the endless blue can be an excellent stimulator of brain activity. In 1995, American scientists conducted an interesting experiment. They divided the students into two groups. One for a month studied in the classroom, where seascapes were hung. The other is in the classroom with images of the urban jungle. After that, they were asked to perform the same test. The group admiring the sea did the job much better.
Fact # 2: the sea affects the emotional state
There are many studies that show that the sea can help relieve emotional stress. Rest on the coast promotes the synthesis of the hormones of joy - endorphins and serotonin. Wallen Nichols even wrote an entire book on Why the Sea Makes People Happy - fun and easy weekend reading.
By the way, the blue color of the sea helps to lower blood pressure, normalizes the heartbeat, calms the nervous system - scientists have proven this too.
Fact # 3: sea water has a positive effect on the bronchi and lungs
We are talking specifically about the Black Sea. It has a healing effect on the respiratory system due to the high content of negatively charged ions, salt and oxygen. Add to this the phytoncides of the pines growing on the coast, and you get a real natural “sanatorium”.
Fact # 4: swimming in the sea improves metabolism
Scientists advise those who want to lose weight to take "sea" baths at home. The “slimming” effect can be easily explained: increased heat transfer in water, combined with salt and physical activity, works wonders by improving metabolism.
Fact # 5: the sea has a positive effect on the intellectual development of the child
Many parents notice wonderful things after a family vacation on the coast: babies absorb information better, remember faster and cope with assigned tasks. No magic! Firstly, sea water is rich in iodine ions - with a lack of this element, memory suffers first of all. Secondly, playing in the sand is great for developing fine motor skills. Thirdly, the psycho-emotional background improves at sea, which cannot but affect learning - in a calm state, information is absorbed better.
