World hits based on real stories that everyone should watch!
The Incredible Life of Walter Mitty

Actor, director and producer Ben Steeler directed the film based on the 1939 story The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. In a short story less than 20 pages long, American writer James Thurber portrayed the dreamer Walter Mitty. In his fantasies, he turned into a famous surgeon, then into a seaplane commander.
Ben Steeler significantly expanded the plot and brought the action into the 21st century. The modern Walter is a Life magazine employee who spends most of his working day dreaming. During the lunch break, he would have continued to imagine himself as an astronaut and a traveler, if serious changes had not come in his life … An amazingly good picture that it is never too late to decide on the most important step.
Miracle

In the film, Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson play the parents of a special boy named Auggie, who was born with a rare condition and survived numerous facial surgeries. Because of this, Auggie is homeschooled for a long time, but the day comes when the boy goes to regular school. Careless classmates, confused parents and an offended sister - all this will be in the life of a small but strong Auggie.
The film is based on the novel of the same name, Wonder.
1 + 1

The movie showed a Hollywood version of the famous French film, but it is better to revise the original with François Cluse and Omar Si in the lead roles. A young guy from the unfamiliar area of Driss rushes to an unusual job: looking after Philip, an aristocrat in a wheelchair. Under other circumstances, the heroes might not meet, but it is this event that changes the lives of both characters.
In reality, a similar story happened with the Frenchman Philippe Pozzo di Borgo, who is on the 1 + 1 list of screenwriters and even insisted that the film be presented as a comedy in the first place.
Hachiko: The most loyal friend

The film is about a great friendship (with Richard Gere in the title role), which teaches each of us to be kinder. She was also inspired by a real story. Hachiko the dog lived in Tokyo in the 30s of the 20th century and for nine years came to the railway station to meet his master. Hachiko is still a symbol of loyalty and love in Japan, and a monument to him is erected at the Shibuya station in Tokyo.
Christopher Robin

A touching, soulful story about the matured Christopher Robin, played by Ewan McGregor. The picture was definitely shot for an adult audience who grew up on the tales of Winnie the Pooh. Sometimes dramatic, sometimes funny, it makes you think about the importance each of us attaches to everyday routine, moving away from true happiness by leaps and bounds.
Director Mark Foster recreated in the film the most beautiful (and sometimes frightening) landscapes of the Hundred Acre Forest, to which there is always a chance to return, even if you are no longer ten.
Mary Poppins Returns

Another picture based on a children's fairy tale. Director Rob Marshall decided not to change himself and shot a real musical in which Emily Blunt (she has the main role), Meryl Streep and Colin Firth sing. Mary Poppins Returns has three Oscar nominations and a sea of fans - the film is entertaining, kind and, as expected, instructive.
Billy Elliot

The famous film of 2000, which tells the story of an 11-year-old boy, Billy, who dreamed of going to the Royal Ballet School in London. But here's the bad luck: Billy grows up in the north of England, in a family of miners and, by tradition, should be fond of boxing, not ballet …
The Hollywood plot in the hands of a European director has found the necessary depth and drama - you will worry about Billy's fate (which seems to be a foregone conclusion at the very beginning) until the credits!
Invisible side

Sandra Bullock won an Oscar in 2009 for her role in The Blind Side. The film tells the story of soccer player Michael Oher, who was adopted into a wealthy family in high school. Mrs. Tui (Sandra Bullock) takes over the upbringing of her adopted son and enrolls him on the football team. A picture of mutual assistance and endless possibilities - you just have to want it!
Pyshka

A 2018 film with a super-topical slogan "My body is my business"! Director Anne Fletcher (Step Up, The Proposal, 27 Weddings) turned a trivial teenage film into a deep story full of family dramas and the challenges of life in small American towns. The main character Willowdeen, whom her own mother (Jennifer Aniston) calls "plump", decides to participate in a local beauty pageant. Further - the shock of others, contradictions at Willoughdin herself and the kindest denouement!
The shape of water

The Shape of Water is Guillermo del Toro's fantasy film, released in 2017. In 2018, the film received four Oscars at once, one of them in the Best Film nomination. Its action takes place in the 60s of the last century, a dumb cleaning lady steals an amphibian man from the laboratory, saving his life, and literally settles in his own bathroom. Watch - because of the beautiful visual effects and a kind love story, which, as you know, always has a good ending!
