“Yesterday at a health food cafe my 5-year-old son ordered an avocado toast and my 3-year-old daughter ate a salad of avocado, kale and quinoa. And at that moment I was very proud of them! But at the same time I realized that the work I did as a mother was not done in vain,”TV presenter Masha Kravtsova (Marika) told Publik Talk on the topic of the movement for conscious consumption, organized by the L'Oréal Professionnel brand.
Masha also shared life hacks that helped her instill in her children a love of healthy food, and the editor of BeautyHack wrote them down.

1. Set a good example for children
Whether we like it or not, children copy our behavior and habits. Especially in those moments when we do something wrong. No wonder they say that a bad example is contagious. Do you want your child to eat only healthy foods? Then, first of all, give up junk food yourself! Let the children see that there are only healthy ingredients in your diet.
Of course, it is very difficult to isolate them from hazards in the form of chocolates and soda. In the same gardens or visiting grandmothers, the child may be offered not very healthy food. It is very frustrating, at such moments it seems that all your efforts are in vain. But you shouldn't despair anyway. Accept the situation and continue to advocate proper nutrition at least at home.
2. Talking to children about food
It is important to understand that even in society, a child will always have a choice: follow your example or eat something harmful. In order for the first option to work, from a very early age it is worth talking with children about food, explaining what is useful and what is not very good, and why.
3. Watch the right cartoons
The consciousness of children is also shaped by what they see from TV or tablet screens. Show them only those characters who should be equal not only in behavior, but also in lifestyle. For example, I recently found the cartoon Popeye the Sailor, where the main character eats spinach. I showed it to my son and, what do you think, he immediately, like the character, fell in love with spinach! Now he always asks for this product at lunch.
4. Cooking healthy meals with children
Another life hack is to cook the right desserts or main dishes with your children. That is, let them mix some ingredients, fully include them in the cooking process. Then the kids themselves will want to try what they did. The chances that they will give up the healthy food they took part in the preparation is almost zero. Of course, this method may seem rather complicated to implement: then you will have to wash the kitchen for a long time (laughs). But what would not a mother do for the health of her child!
