I came across the account of Sonechka (@sonyazdorova) and her family by accident. In the insta world, she stood out among the licked content of "ideal" people with an "ideal" life. On Sonya's page, everything is imperfect, except for herself. You won't see photos from expensive resorts and fashion shows there, but you can easily find videos from rehabilitation centers and the endless war in stories - the war for the right to live an ordinary life. For the right to speak and walk without pain. Today is Sonya's birthday, and I just could not help but tell you about this amazing child. This is not a blockbuster or a detective story. And the characters in this story are not professional actors acting to evoke emotion. Remember this as you read.
Girl is love
“Natasha, she's amazing, you know? She brings together wonderful people around her,”Sonia's mother tells me.
Lada herself is no less amazing than her daughter. She is open, funny and incredibly beautiful. Her voice is as soothing as a sedative.
“This child was too hard for me to retreat, you understand?” - continues Lada.
I nod in the affirmative, but I think to myself that even 50% I can't feel what has become almost the norm for her: life from rehabilitation to rehabilitation with the right to a short break with the family.
Lada's pregnancy was planned and long-awaited. The eldest son David had been asking for replenishment for a long time and was very happy that he would become a brother in the square - his mother was expecting twins. They were preparing for pregnancy like for a flight into space: tests, vitamins, a complete rejection of alcohol.
Everything was proceeding normally. But on the 28th week, the doctors gathered a consultation and called the worried parents: “Guys, one of the girls is dying. She cannot eat normally - blood flow is almost zero. We must let her die and pull the second as long as possible. If you induce labor now, you will get two corpses or two invalids "…..
8 hours after that, Lada started having contractions. Ivanka and Sonya were born. On the fifth day, Sophia's sister went to heaven, having managed to get a name and left a huge scar on the soul of her parents. Yura and Lada were not even able to mourn her - they faced a difficult and very unequal struggle for the life of the second baby.
“On the same day, Sofia suffered a massive stroke, which subsequently caused hydrocephalus,” says Lada.
I want to hug her tightly and dull at least a little the pain she has experienced. I close my eyes, take three deep breaths, and try to pull myself together and listen to the story to the end.
“Sister pulls Sophia with her,” the resuscitator told us in horror, “if she survives today, she will live on!” I knelt all night, begging the Lord not to take my second daughter. She was bleeding from everywhere: from her nose, mouth and even ears. But God heard me. She survived. On that day, she became completely different and loudly declared to the world that she would live! "- Lada continues.
But that was only the beginning of a long and long journey. During the year, Sofia underwent 11 brain surgeries, 20 anesthesia and clinical death.
“Sonia was diagnosed with grade 4 intraventricular hemorrhage. This meant only one thing: deep disability and the state of the "plant". The realization that our daughter would never recognize us made her eyes dim. According to data from a medical source, in the first degree, neurological disorders in children are observed in 5%, in the fourth - in 90%. Cerebral palsy, c petty, deafness, breathing problems…. But on the 10th day, the daughter began to breathe without a ventilator. Itself! This was her second victory,”Lada smiles.
It is impossible to listen without emotion. I am overwhelmed with pride for this small and strong person whom I fell in love with through my smartphone screen.
“I was very afraid that Sonya would go blind - retinopathy in premature babies is a frequent occurrence. The maternal feeling did not disappoint. When we brought Sonya to Kiev in a special incubator, the doctor took a picture and made a verdict: we need an operation. And not one, and not two…. But they could not help either. The bill went to hours. I prayed, prayed that Sonya could see us! And again they heard me upstairs. The daughter's eyesight was saved."
And even this is not the middle of the road. Then there was bypass surgery and clinical death.
“When the nurse snatched my daughter out of my hands again, I thought it was definitely the end. “The heart is not beating,” I heard from the intensive care unit, “faster, faster!” On this day, Sonya died and rose again to make Yura and me different. And not only us - all those who follow our history. The day after clinical death, she again smiled at this world, breathed life! ", - Lada says trying to restrain emotions.
Sonia Yura and Lada did not tell their relatives about all the repeated operations, going through this hell together. At 7 months old, Sonya had an implant inserted into her brain.
“I remember how painful it was for my grandfather to look at Sophia's cut head. Everything inside me at that moment was torn to pieces. He went up to her then and quietly said: "Never mind, Sofiyka, everything will be fine!" We repeat this phrase every day."
The account of this amazing girl is followed by 170 thousand people. It is simply impossible not to fall in love with her. Sonya, like her parents, almost always smiles, distributing rays of goodness to everyone. Her struggle is not over yet. Sophia will have to learn to walk, and she will learn, believe me, to speak and rally even more people around herself.
The whole family lives on suitcases. Lada says she doesn't unpack them.
“We undergo rehabilitation every month! Otherwise it is impossible - otherwise Sonya will not learn to walk and speak. It's hard to leave the eldest son for so long - he is very bored and is looking forward to home.
Looking at Sonya's pictures and successes, doctors themselves find it difficult to believe that this is possible. Her brain has recovered 97%, the baby is already walking with a walker. And if she went with them, then she will go without them. When this will happen, nobody knows. But Lada and Yura are doing everything possible to make this happen as early as possible. At the end of February, Sonia will have an operation in Belgium. Baby's hips will be broken. This is necessary for Sonya to be able to walk without pain.
“Every time Sonya was in intensive care, Yura and I prayed only about one thing: live! We didn't care what the consequences and prospects for the future would be. Love for our daughter knows no bounds. She smells like an angel! Do you believe me? ".
Sonya has a birthday today. If any of you wants to help her collect for an operation in Belgium, the details are on the girl's page. For a long time, dad Yura coped with the expenses himself, but it is very difficult to pull 7000 euros for rehabilitation every month. Documents can be requested from mom on the page (@sonyazdorova).
