Best Movies 2019: List To Watch

The past year has been rich in really good movie premieres.

We did not include in our selection "Joker", "Once upon a time … in Hollywood" and "Strippers", which were on everyone's lips. But we chose films that are no less interesting and worthy of attention.

"Kholop", December 2019

Main roles: Milos Bikovich, Alexandra Bortich, Maria Mironova, Kirill Nagiyev, Ivan Okhlobystin

A comedy from director Klim Shipenko about the major Grisha, who falls into the 19th century. And not with the help of a time machine, but through the project of his father: in an abandoned village, actors and psychologists recreate the atmosphere of the past in order to re-educate a spoiled guy.

Starring: Emilia Clarke, Henry Golding

This film is worth watching if only for the duo of Emilia Clarke, star of Game of Thrones, and Henry Golding, who starred in Crazy Rich Asians. In this film, the actors will play a couple (we think they look good together!). But the most interesting thing is that a girl will appear in the image of a bad character, and a man will save her. As a bonus: beautiful decorations and a Last Christmas melody.

The Lady and the Tramp, November 2019

A very beautiful film based on the plot of the 1955 cartoon of the same name. Must-see not only for children, but also for adults who grew up watching Walt Disney's pictures!

Main roles: Alexander Petrov, Ivan Yankovsky, Christina Asmus

A drama around which there was a lot of noise because of the frank scene of Ivan Yankovsky and Christina Asmus. But the plot of the film is based on a completely different line, it is definitely not about the love of a man and a woman. The main character, played by Alexander Petrov, will go to jail on false charges and, once released, will take revenge. But this is not a Hollywood blockbuster; in the harsh reality, revenge will turn out to be completely different.

A screen adaptation of the famous novel of the same name by Donna Tartt. Despite some negative reviews about the painting, we still recommend looking at it. At least in order to then participate in discussions about comparisons between books and films.

A film about finding yourself and the meaning of life. In the center of the plot is a woman who has everything from the outside: an interesting job, a strong family, a beautiful home. One day she disappears in order to find happiness not in the external, but within herself.

"Parasites", July 2019

The South Korean film, with elements of comedy, drama and thriller, has already received high acclaim from critics: it received the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival and won the Best Foreign Language Film nomination at the Golden Globes. According to the plot, the main character, who is forced to live with his family in a semi-basement and exist from paycheck to paycheck on casual part-time jobs, gets a job as a tutor for a girl from a wealthy family. So he becomes a regular guest of a luxurious house and comes up with a plan for how to stay in this place, and also arrange his sister there.

An animated remake of the 1994 cartoon of the same name. Very beautiful, kind and touching.

A horror film is worth watching for the sake of Lupito Nyong'o, her performance has been noted by many film critics. According to the plot, the main character with her husband and children goes on vacation to the coast, but at one point the vacation turns into a test: people in red suits begin to chase them. At times, the film really does evoke unpleasant emotions.
