Cashmere blanket and good film. The necessary names are in our selection.

Easy Virtue

Be warned: the title has nothing to do with the feed itself. The original title of the film is Easy Vertue.

Australian director Stefan Elliott was unknown to moviegoers before Easy Behavior (2008). Stefan was involved in art-house musicals that had one thing in common: strong-willed and stylish heroines with platinum curls.

In the film, the heroine is exactly like this: Larita (Jessica Bill) proudly shrugs her shoulders, wears red lipstick, laughs loudly and falls in love with every man she meets (including the father of her husband, the hero of Colin Firth). Why do you need to love her?

In the story, this American girl from a simple working-class family led the public and won the car races. The brave Larita was noticed by the Englishman of blue blood John, married and brought to his native estate. Larita knows how to behave distinctively, but correctly - for example, she competently and easily responds to the barbs of John's mother (and wears dresses with an open back so confidently that the mother does not have barbs left).

The film helps to reconsider the attitude towards oneself and proudly "straighten the back" in the literal and figurative sense (Larita holds her so straight that it is impossible to stoop).

It started in Naples

Firstly, Sophia Loren plays the main role (needless to say that aesthetic pleasure is guaranteed?). Secondly, the action takes place against the backdrop of the Naples landscapes. Thirdly, the plot is ironic, but not banal: the heroine Sophie Lucia works as a dancer in a bar and watches over her beloved nephew Nanda. In Naples, the boy's uncle from California, lawyer Michael (Clark Gable), is announced, and he dreams of taking Nanda to America. This tug-of-war is accompanied by jokes, songs, dances, and the kissing of the impeccable Gable and Lauren.

In 1961, the film won an Oscar for Best Artist's Work. Artistic girls will appreciate luscious Italian colors, surreal episodes and groundbreaking plans for the 60s.

Funny face

Image
Image

50 years before La La Land, there was Funny Face. Why do you need to watch this musical? Audrey Hepburn in Givenchy airy dresses (to the actress they were sent by the couturier Hubert) + Fred Astaire's serenade under the balcony and a step to the music of Gershwin is not a formula for a happy Friday evening.

The storyline is simple, like most musicals, but its "design" is different: Audrey in a beige trench coat waves to us from the third level of the Eiffel Tower, stops traffic at the Arc de Triomphe for the famous shooting with a shock of balloons, runs down the steps of the Louvre in a scarlet dress in floor. If you're heading to Paris, the film will inspire you for romantic city walks and extraordinary Instagram photos.

Girls

Image
Image

In this film of the 60s (unlike the previous one) there are no Parisian decorations and Givenchy dresses, but Tosya, beloved by our mothers, is a “simple girl” from an orphanage with outstanding willpower, a brave heart and a Russian broad soul. If you haven't watched Girls, we envy you and know what will make you smile. If you've watched it five or even ten times, leave this movie for the evening of a hard day at work. The scene in which Tosya is eating a gigantic sandwich with gusto will save any ambiguous day.

Modern girls have a lot to learn - at least to say the key phrase of Tosya: “Here I am walking beautifully down the street, and the men around are falling and falling. And they themselves stack up in stacks."

Sweet Francis

Image
Image

The film "Sweet Frances" in one sentence: the favorite of the American Film Academy Noah Baumbach shot a black and white film in New York about his friend Greta Gerwig and her kind, but ridiculous adventures (we must add - the picture begins with David Bowie's song Modern Love) …

Why is each of us in Francis? Because this girl runs headlong forward towards her dream, stumbles and continues to seek her place in the world.

Frances is "almost a dancer": in the troupe she is considered incapable and is not taken on tour. Frances' only support - Sophie's capricious friend and neighbor - suddenly falls in love and leaves (first to another apartment, then to Japan). What will Francis do? The film will surprise you and make you laugh.

Good year

Image

We know Ridley Scott as the director of box office blockbusters like "The Martian" with Matt Damon, the formidable "Gladiator" and "Alien" (don't look impressionable). The experience of 2006 proves that Ridley embodies romantic plots just as effectively.

History: businessman Max in a starched shirt turned out to be the heir to a winery in Provence (where he spent the best summer of his childhood). Max's first thought is to urgently sell the plot with the house. The beauty of Marion Cotillard (and a translucent white dress) interferes with the plans.

“Good Year” is a guide for girls who want to gently but effectively persuade a man to make the “right” decision. The heroine Cotillard does it quickly, easily, and stays in her dress.

Margarita

Image

Do you like to sing? French "noblewoman" Marguerite Dumont - too. Moreover, she wants to "give" this love to the masses - she fakes for the money of her silent husband on the main opera stages of Paris in the 1920s.

Why do you need to watch this movie? Because we all have such "shameful" acquaintances - we treat them with sympathy and do not dare to say honestly that they do not shine with talent. For this, all those close to Margarita “paid off” - they came up with excuses not to come to concerts, built earplugs and clapped loudly after each aria (“let her not know better”).

"Margarita" is a fascinating guide to the correct communication with people who are confused and become the object of ridicule. By the way, we advise you to think about whether you have a particle of Marguerite Dumont in you?

Notting Hill

Image
Image

Indications for viewing: fatigue, a difficult week, disappointment in love and the desire to fall "face down in the pillow." Active Ingredients: Julia Roberts in bold tops (and also with French braids), Hugh Grant, "doll" London district of Notting Hill and nostalgic hits of 99 (Lighthouse's Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone, for example).

The plot is like in "Roman Vacation": the famous actress Anna Scott walks around London in search of peace of mind and looks at books about travel in a bookstore. The host turns out to be gray-eyed Hugh Grant in his prime. Hugh did not immediately understand who he was selling the Istanbul guidebook to - for this Anna liked him.

Watching "Notting Hill" is necessary for the sake of: 1) the feeling that everything will turn out as it should; 2) an intelligent smile and apt phrases of Julia Roberts; 3) Hugh Grant's virtuoso perplexed look (while the actor does not stop looking sexy).

Tenderness

Image

Audrey Tautou, in the guise of a strict boss, kisses a sloppy subordinate and immediately forgets about him. A tall and clumsy Swede, on the contrary, immediately falls in love with a miniature Parisian woman and makes romantic plans. They live as on two different planets: she drinks espresso from porcelain cups and rarely smiles, he dines with meatballs and lives with his parents in an apartment furnished with Ikea furniture.

Back in 2011, directors David and Stefan Fenkinos decided to show this story to everyone who does not dare to simple tenderness because of a too serious life. Will appeal to workaholics, like Audrey's heroine, or dreamers who will find their character traits in a charming Swede.

You will meet a mysterious stranger

Image
Image

The whole truth about relationships in the ironic Woody Allen style. Plot: we watch the American family and their love troubles. For example, the grandmother of the family, Helena, divorced her husband Alfie (an elderly romantic fell in love with a young blonde with a dubious reputation) and became interested in communicating with a medium. At this time, their beloved daughter Sally forgets about her husband at the sight of the "polished" boss.

Woody Allen not only cleverly unravels this tangle, but also makes the audience laugh at witty jokes.

It's worth watching with your husband / boyfriend / girlfriends / mom - the film is suitable for long conversations after watching.

Trainee

Image
Image

The Trainee was directed by Nancy Myers, the director who gave us Exchange Vacation.

This time, Anne Hathaway moves into Miranda Priestley's chair from The Devil Wears Prada, playing the founder of a fashion online store. Robert De Niro, oddly enough, takes the place of the heroine Anne from "The Devil Wears Prada" - gets the position of the girl's trainee.

We recommend that you postpone this film for the whole family to watch - everyone will laugh and reflect on important values.

Inveterate scammers

Image
Image

In this 2019 film, Anne plays the girl that all men are crazy about. She boldly uses this and, charming them, disappears after she receives gifts in the form of jewelry, cars or houses. But one day she comes across a competitor in the person of the heroine Rebel Wilson. True, she behaves with the opposite sex in a completely different way from Hathaway: she always finds herself in awkward situations, and we prefer fast food and entertainment to diamonds. But due to certain circumstances, two such different girls-scammers will have to unite in the case of seducing a young billionaire. Only one day everything will go wrong: feelings will become stronger than the goal.

This comedy is worth watching in order to cheer yourself up. And the plot will not be as banal as one might have assumed at the beginning of the viewing. Another plus in favor of this film is the outfits of the main character Anne. It's also very funny how she will teach Wilson's demeanor.

Boyfriend from the future

Image

This film did not gain fame in Russia due to the reckless translation of the title. In fact, the tape is called complex and beautiful - About Time ("About time" or "About Tim" - that's the name of the main character).

The plot is philosophical: a red-haired Englishman learns that he can travel in time. His father also possesses the same gift - he returned to the past in order to have time to read all of Charles Dickens. Tim chose a different goal - he decided to find true love by all means. When Tim and Mary (Rachel McAdams) meet Tim and Mary (Rachel McAdams), an ordinary female film would come to an end, but About Time moves on. To fall in love with this film for life, you need to watch it - in the finale you will find a non-trivial and important conclusion about happiness.

Roman Adventures

Image

The steps of the Spanish stairs, open wooden doors, men in white wrestlers and kisses at the Trevi Fountain - all this Woody Allen showed with great love in a film similar to "pizza" (the word "hodgepodge" will not sound here) from Roman novels.

The film is very feminine: about the intricacies of the first year of marriage, and about how to prevent male infidelities, and about Penelope Cruz as a courtesan “with principles”. Add to that the raw views of the Eternal City. Caution: after watching, you will definitely want to fly away closer to pasta with seafood and colorful Italians.

Moscow does not believe in tears

Image
Image

The film by Vladimir Menshov is loved not only in Russia - "Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears" is included in the top 100 best films of all time according to IMDB (American "Kinopoisk"). Why do you need to watch your parents' favorite movie?

The very phrase “Everything did not work out right away, Moscow was not built right away” gives new strength. The story of Alexandra - and does charge for the whole week. Do not count the next time you watch the scene of the meeting of our heroine with Gosha (aka Goga) - draw new conclusions and believe in true love.
