Every moment of the film presents the girls with a choice. Just as life puts us.

The plot touches on social topics, the controversy around which does not subside today: euthanasia, abortion, women's rights. Although Balagov himself notes that his story is about the fact that "a man needs a man", not "a woman needs a woman." But this is what is being discussed now. And that only a woman can understand a woman. And that she can be happy with any of her own choices, which does not necessarily have to include marriage with a man. After all, in the film, all male characters are of the second plan, and this also reflects the trends of the time.

From the point of view of formality, the main condition for getting into the Oscar nominees is screenings in American cinemas.
