I wish all stories ended well, but we just can't take our eyes off the sad movies. It is not surprising that we have watched Hachiko many times and, without hesitation, repeat the dialogues from Titanic. If you are ready for a sharp emotional experience, get ready and turn on any of these films. Just make sure you have a cozy blanket, napkins, and a large box of chocolates nearby.
1. Pay Another (2000)

Young Trevor McKinney, worried about his mother's alcoholism and fears of his abusive father, took on an intriguing assignment from his new social science teacher, Mr. Simonet. Assignment: come up with something to change the world and use it in action. Trevor gets the idea to borrow "not back, but forward." You are doing someone a good deed, but ask that person to thank not you, but three other people. Trevor's attempts to bring his idea to life led to a revolution not only in his life, his mother and his teacher, suffering from physical and emotional trauma, but also in the life of an ever expanding circle of people completely unfamiliar to him.
2. The Omen (2009)

In the fall of 1959, schoolchildren draw pictures of the world 50 years later for the "time capsule". Lucinda is a strange child who hears voices, writes a long string of numbers quickly. In 2009, the capsule is opened in honor of the school's anniversary. A student named Caleb Koestler receives Lucinda's "drawing" and his father John, an astrophysicist and grieving widower, begins to study it. He will find out the dates of disasters over the past 50 years and the number of people killed in these disasters. Three dates from the list have not yet arrived. He begins to research everything about Lucinda and searches for her family. John fears for his son, who has also begun to hear voices and is visited by a silent stranger who shows him visions of fire and destruction. What's the matter?
3. Atonement (2007)

When 13-year-old aspiring writer Briony Tallis sees her older sister Cecilia and Robbie Turner at the fountain in front of the family estate, she misinterprets what is happening. This leads to a series of misunderstandings and children's panic, which will be long lasting. The consequences for everyone will not be the most pleasant. Robbie is the son of a family servant, to whom they have always been kind. They paid for his Cambridge education and now he plans to go to medical school. After the incident with the Fountain, Briony reads a letter intended for Cecilia and concludes that Robbie is insane. When her cousin Lola was raped, she told the police that Robbie was to blame and she saw him.
4. One day (2011)

Don't be fooled by how romantic the movie trailer looks. It is a sad story about friendship, love and powerful moments when they intersect. Throughout the film, you will admire the heroine Anne Hathaway and the character of Jim Sturgess and expect that in the end they will end up together. But the narrator has a completely different story prepared.
5. The best in me (2014)

Any story by Nicholas Sparks is sure to make you cry, even if it's silly and a little incredible. This film is no exception. So make sure the napkins are nearby. No matter how dreamy James Marsden and Michelle Monaghan are, their love is simply not meant to stand the test of time - and it's heartbreaking to watch it all fall apart.
