BeautyHack special correspondent Veronica Shur tested laser hair removal with the new Alma Laser Soprano Ice and shared her impressions.

At Wax & Go, I often went to wax my legs - they do it better and faster than in any other salons in the city. But that was before, about 3 years ago. It was then that I tried the laser for the first time and my problem of unwanted hair in the literal sense of the word "disappeared" by itself. The treated areas are truly smooth forever. "Can not be! And don't they grow at all?”- my friends often ask me. Yes, they don't. Absolutely. For at least these three years, nothing has grown on my legs and arms.

But, as you know, there is no limit to perfection, and when a new Alma Laser Soprano Ice appeared in the Wax & Go salon on Malaya Bronnaya, I immediately signed up for testing. “If to be smooth, then everywhere!” - I thought, and this time I decided to do away with excess vegetation in the bikini and armpits.

Soprano is, one might say, a classic laser hair removal. But unlike previous models of the same device, the master can work with Soprano Ice on the move. The laser nozzle glides smoothly over the cool gel applied to the skin, and laser flashes are felt less painful than during static aimed shots.

“In your case, we will choose the alexandrite attachment,” - before the start of the session, Emilia, the master who performed the procedure, explained to me. There are only two nozzles: diode and alexandrite, both are good, but they have different operating principles. Thick dark hair with a lot of melanin is more efficiently removed with the alexandrite laser. And light blond or dark, but very thin hairs, in which there is little pigment, are best suited to the action of a diode nozzle. By the way, it is also chosen in all cases when epilation is performed on tanned skin.

The whole procedure for both zones (bikini and armpits) took no more than 40 minutes, which are easily and almost imperceptibly transferred. Yes, laser hair removal is a little painful, but you can be patient, especially in the name of beauty. After the laser, the skin turns slightly red, but the irritation quickly goes away if you follow a few recommendations. For several days, do not sunbathe, do not go to the solarium, do not take hot baths, and do not use hard scrubs on the treated areas.

And now a few words about expectations and real results. Firstly, it is important to understand that after laser hair removal, the skin will not instantly become smooth, the hairs begin to fall out only after 7-10 days. This happens gradually and the "farewell" can drag on for several weeks. But during this time, you can use a razor, or, as an option, after a week and a half, remove all excess wax.

Secondly, after the first session, not all hair falls out, but only those that were in the growth stage. And hair growth is a complex process, it depends on hormonal levels and many other factors. Therefore, the results are different for everyone, for some girls after the first session, only 20-30% of the total hair volume falls out, while for others, almost all 40%.

Thirdly, some of the fallen hairs "go away" forever, but some of them may grow back in a month or two. As a rule, they are much thinner in density than their predecessors, and therefore not so noticeable. But along with them, new hairs may also appear on the skin - the very ones that were in the "hibernation" stage and sat deep in the epidermis in the hair follicle. By the way, the laser activates their growth, and after the first sessions of hair removal it may even seem mistakenly that the hair has begun to grow thicker. That is why laser hair removal is done not once, but in courses.

And most importantly, how many sessions are needed in the end to start a new, absolutely “bald” life? Experts promise that 7-10 procedures will be required to get rid of all excess in the bikini area, and 5-10 procedures in the armpits.

In fact, the result is highly dependent on the individual. For example, light blond or golden, sunburned hairs on tanned skin leave slowly. And dark and dense hair on light skin (I have just such a case) is faster. Therefore, for all burning brunettes, note: girls, laser hair removal works wonders with us! From my own experience, I can say that three years ago, when I did laser hair removal, my hands became absolutely smooth after 4-5 procedures, and my legs needed only three procedures. I really hope that the result with a bikini with armpits in my case will not be long in coming either.
