Face
I believe that a makeup artist can be identified by the way he looks: at any second, his face tone seems perfect. Make-up can be minimal, but it will definitely be - high-quality and "beneficial" for a specific face shape.

Manicure
If you want to determine the level of the makeup artist - look at his hands. I am convinced that professionals always take care of manicure. If your nails are in poor condition, turn around.
clothing
Professional makeup artists dress in monochrome. Our favorite color is black, we are backstage people and do not seek to stand out with colorful outfits. A professional makeup artist will enjoy the variety of shades on the model's face and will not "transfer" them to himself.
Brushes
I can easily identify a pro by opening his case. I can never trust a makeup artist who has 10 brushes. My working set consists of two cases and a lot of tubes, which contain about 150 brushes of different brands. They differ in pile quality and shape. I know what impression and shading each brush gives. The perfect set of tools indicates that the makeup artist is ready for work.
Brands
If a make-up artist works with unique palettes, a new collection of cream products and uses the Illamasqua brand, which is not in Russia, then most likely you are looking at a professional who studies a lot and travels a lot.
I consider makeup artists to be real "gourmets" if I find Charlotte Tilbury and Tom Ford cosmetics in their case. I respect those who buy Ben Nye makeup products or Shu Uemura tools.
You will not find free space on the desktop at my school Iconface - all the space is occupied by cosmetics of these very brands.
Technics
I understand that the model was painted by a professional, when I pay attention not to makeup, but to the beauty of the person. A professional will never "load" the client's skin with too dense tone, will not diligently paint eyebrows. The work of a professional always looks airy and does not overlap a person's character. For example, a girl's face can only have tone and delicate blush. Gorgeous eyebrows will look as if they were created by nature itself. The makeup looks like it took a few minutes, even though it took an hour, and that's the real skill.
