Scrubs with apricot pits, raspberries, grapes, kiwi, olives … It sounds nice, but in fact they are more aggressive on the skin than ordinary scrubs, so they are not suitable for everyone. How to choose a scrub and use it without harm to the skin, BeautyHack.ru asked an expert - dermatologist and cosmetologist Marina Lekomtseva.
Why bone scrubs can be dangerous

- Scrub is an effective means for deep cleansing of the skin. It exfoliates the upper stratum corneum, stimulates blood circulation, makes the skin smoother, smoother and more radiant. At the same time, many people prefer scrubs with natural abrasive particles - from apricot, grape, raspberry and other seeds. They are really capable of working faster than conventional scrubs, but only if the particles contained in the scrub are polished, round and even. However, it happens that these particles, even being very small, still have sharp edges, which is why they damage the skin when applied.
If the particles are sharp, you will notice negative effects immediately after the first use, even if the skin did not differ in sensitivity. Having received micro-injuries and micro-scratches, the skin will react with minor inflammations. And if you scrub your face regularly, you will get the opposite effect expected from this procedure: the skin will thicken, the pores will expand, the complexion will worsen, and the stratum corneum will grow even faster.
An option is to only choose underwired scrubs from brands you trust. Also, before use, you should consult with a beautician. Such scrubs (even with round particles) have contraindications.

Who are definitely not suitable for scrubs with bones?
It is categorically impossible to use scrubs with bone particles (even with round ones) for people with acne during the period of its exacerbation, you can spread the infection all over the face. Also, these funds are contraindicated for owners of skin with spider veins (rosacea) and rosacea. Otherwise, the disease will progress. And finally, scrubs are not recommended for very sensitive skin: the process will be unpleasant, and then redness and allergies are possible.
A good substitute for scrubs in these cases can be various options for enzymatic or enzymatic cleansing. For example, I recommend that my patients with sensitive or problem skin use enzyme powder.
How to use a bone scrub
The more oily and denser the skin, the more often the scrub is used. If it is a scrub with polished particles, use it once a week for oily skin and once every 10-14 days for dry skin. It is better to apply the scrub in the evening, when you have already removed your makeup and washed your face with a product suitable for your skin.
1. After washing, apply toner. The ideal option is a tonic with acids, which works even better on the skin and prepares it for scrubbing.
2. Gently apply the scrub along the massage lines of the face. You can leave it on for a few seconds.
3. Rinse off the scrub with warm water and apply the mask. For maximum effect, you can combine several masks: for example, apply sebum regulating to the T-zone, and moisturizing on the cheeks.
