If you often suffer from clogged pores, inflammation and other imperfections of the skin, do not rush to blame genetics - you may simply not clean your makeup brushes correctly. BeautyHack teamed up with top makeup artists and beauticians to compile a list of simple tips for caring for these tools.

Clean Liquid Texture Brushes After Each Use
It's no secret that brushes are a real breeding ground for microbes, and the greatest danger is tools for liquid cosmetics (foundation, concealer, liquid highlighter, and so on). Make it a rule to cleanse these brushes after each use so that they don't cause acne. The rest of the instruments can be rinsed once a week.

Wash your makeup sponges with a disinfectant solution
Dirty sponges are perhaps the ideal breeding ground for bacteria. When you apply the tone, they get on the face and cause inflammation and purulent rashes. Dermatocosmetologist Viktoria Goncharuk advises to thoroughly wash sponges, change them regularly and treat them with disinfectants at least once a week. Do not overuse express brush cleaners
Wipes and sprays for quick cleaning of brushes are useful, but if you are not a makeup artist, it is better to rinse them with shampoo. Tim Leo's makeup artist is confident that the brushes will last longer and the cleansing will be more effective. In addition, if you need to wash your brush urgently (for example, when traveling), choose napkins made from a special material that absorbs dirt and is suitable for any nap. A great option is Manly Pro's Express Makeup Brush Cleansing Wipes.

Clean your brushes gently
Top makeup artist in Russia and founder of the Shik Beauty cosmetic brand Natalya Shik advises washing makeup brushes very carefully so that water does not flow into the ferula. To do this, the pile should look down, and the stream of water should fall exclusively on the villi. Find Natalia's favorite brushes here.

Each pile has its own way of cleaning
The ideal cleanser for natural bristle brushes is regular hair shampoo. For goat hair tools, it is also recommended to use conditioner - the bristles will become soft and the brush life will be significantly increased. For artificial lint, more aggressive cleaning agents such as soap are also suitable. As a rule, oily cosmetics are more difficult to wash off from them, so cleansing should be more thorough.

Use brush cleaners
You can use your own palm, but the ribbed surface is still better and much faster cleans the brushes of makeup. One option is the Brushegg Silicone Egg with different sized bristles. Simply dab a drop of cleaner on it and use a circular motion to clean the damp brush. After that, be sure to rinse the pile several times and blot off excess moisture with a napkin.

Dry brushes in a ventilated area
It is very important not only to wash the brushes correctly, but also to dry them correctly. Natalia Shik recommends doing this in a ventilated area, and not in a stuffy and damp bathroom. In this case, the brushes should lie at an angle so that the liquid does not penetrate into the ferula, and the pile hangs over the table. In no case should you try to speed up the drying process with a hair dryer - it will ruin the pile and the brush will become unusable for makeup.
