Makeup artist and youtube channel creator Natalina Mua Natalina - about eyeliners that help you draw perfect arrows, and how to draw a straight line if you have a drooping eyelid.

Tip # 1: Decide on the shape of the arrow

It should suit your eyes. Everything here is very individual, but here are the general rules: elongated arrows will stretch round eyes and bring their shape closer to almond-shaped. Another option is to make the arrow short and widen it in the area of the movable eyelid.

If the eye itself is flatter and more elongated, then do not make a long and thin line - it will only emphasize this feature.

The arrows, like the eyebrows, show character! Modest and slim for office work, more active for an evening event.

Tip # 2: Attention to the “tail” of the arrow

When drawing an arrow in front of your eyes, pay attention to the lower border of the "tail". It is she who holds the whole shape and should be sharp like a needle.

Tip # 3: When drawing an arrow, consider the direction of the lower eyelid, the shape of the fold of the upper movable eyelid and the texture of the skin

One of the main questions my clients and students ask is where to point the arrow?

A beautiful result will be obtained if you draw a line in the direction of the lower eyelid outside the outer corner of the eye. The bonus of this make-up is the correct lifting effect!

If the overall skin tone on the eyelids is not very good, blend the arrow with shadows along the upper border - excessive texture and graphics are not always good.

Pay attention to the crease of the upper eyelid! If the relief of the fold intersects the axis on which the outer corner is located, then it makes sense to find an area of even skin where the fold ends, and remove the tail from there. Otherwise, in the fold, the arrow will simply break, and instead of the eyes of the correct almond shape, you will get curved lines.

There are, of course, other options - art arrows for special occasions. Learn to draw them on the link.

Tip # 4: Choose a tool for drawing arrows that is convenient for you

This could be a highlighter (like NYX's Epic Ink), a gel liner (my favorite is Inglot's AMC in 77), or a liquid liner. Be careful with the latter: it is difficult for her to draw the arrows correctly, and for a beginner it will be an almost impossible task.

Do not forget to paint over the upper mucous membrane in black, so the arrows look as harmonious as possible.

Tip # 5: Don't forget about eyelashes

Arrows need support - actively curled and colored eyelashes (both upper and lower). They visually enlarge the eyes and help to correct the shape. My favorite mascaras for maximum volume are Benefit BadGal bang (insanely long-lasting, which is why I also made it to my top 5 most "concrete" makeup products), the curling waterproof Benefit Roller Lash and the legend of Christian Dior Diorshow (with the effect of false eyelashes).
