1. Sugar and all sugar-containing foods

Sugar abuse leads to the process of glycation, when the structure of collagen in the skin is disrupted due to the attachment of sugar molecules to it (we wrote about how to eat less sugar here). The "crosslinked" collagen becomes inaccessible to the collagenase enzyme, which is responsible for stimulating new collagen. As a result, wrinkles appear.
Also, fast carbohydrates, entering the body, "capture" water and cause dehydration. The skin becomes dry, peeling appears.
2. Bread, rolls and donuts

Firstly, these are trans fats, secondly, carbohydrates, and thirdly, gluten. With a high content of bread and buns in the diet, an overgrowth of Candida fungi occurs in the body. Intestinal permeability is increased, which means that large molecules, microorganisms and toxins go directly into the bloodstream. Skin problems are inevitable - from acne to eczema, psoriasis and hair loss.
3. Milk

Milk contains sugar (lactose) and protein (casein), which are not always absorbed by the body. This leads to excessive growth of pathogenic microflora, irritable bowel syndrome, the development of inflammatory processes in the body and fluid stagnation. Bottom line: acne appears on the skin, cellulite on the body.
Do not forget about hormonal components that can be contained in milk and also worsen the skin (we wrote about plant alternatives to cow's milk here).
4. Coffee

Caffeine stimulates the adrenal glands and the production of stress hormone cortisol. During such processes, greasiness increases on the skin, inflammation appears, the scalp becomes oily, and hair may begin to fall out.
Also, remember that not everyone digests coffee well: genetic tests will help determine this.
5. Salt

Salt retains fluid in the body, and puffiness and puffiness appear on the face.
6. Hot spices and dishes based on them

Spices accelerate blood circulation and dilate blood vessels very quickly. If you have rosacea and rosacea, spicy foods can make your skin worse.
7. Trans fats (mayonnaise, ketchup, chips, crackers, popcorn, processed cheese, semi-finished products, fast food, confectionery)

Once in the body, trans fats displace useful fatty acids from cell membranes, impair blood circulation, block enzymes, and disrupt cell nutrition and metabolism. The skin cannot quickly recover, its immunity is disturbed, fragility of blood vessels and wrinkles appear.
8. Iodine-containing products (seaweed, seafood, mushrooms, legumes, eggs, sorrel, spinach, onions, persimmons)

This is a controversial topic, but more and more research is emerging that iodine causes inflammation. The removal of iodine through the sebaceous glands can be accompanied by skin irritation and lead to acne formation. But, as with other products, the main thing is to know when to stop.
