Star makeup artist Alena Lapina (@lapinamakeup) spoke about the means she uses on the set with Pelageya and Svetlana Bondarchuk, and explained how to make the skin matte.
One of the main tasks of a makeup artist on set is to keep the makeup lasting. Even the most patient photographer or cameraman will be annoyed if the makeup artist tweaks the makeup of the star every five minutes. Therefore, specialists are always guided by certain rules that will be useful in everyday life.
Applying a base to match

On the set, I was never let down by the Smashbox bases. In 1996, the brand was founded by two photographers Dean and Davis Factor (great-grandchildren of the famous Max Factor), who took into account the peculiarities of the shooting process and came up with the means to create the perfect shot. For example, on the set of Voices with Pelageya, I use the Photo Finish primer. It perfectly holds the make-up, smoothes the skin and removes any shine for a long time, which is especially important in the constant light of spotlights.
Dry cream eyeshadow base

Often, for color intensity and durability, I use cream shadows instead of a makeup base, while choosing the right color scheme right away. That is, if I need to achieve an intense blue, then I first apply a creamy blue shadow, and then fix them dry. My favorite cream shadows are made by Tom Ford and Make Up For Ever (Aqua Cream Waterproof Cream Color).
Eye concealer

I apply it after eye makeup. When you work with a star, it is important that you like her in the mirror at any time during the shoot. Wrinkles under the eyes due to an unsuccessful corrector after the 72nd frame will definitely ruin her mood. I have always been helped out by the Mini Miracle Eye Wand by Charlotte Tilbury. It absolutely lives up to its name, it is a real magic wand. On the one hand - a base with hyaluronic acid, which smoothes and moisturizes the skin around the eyes, and on the other - a pigmented concealer. The result is a perfect, even color and no wrinkles. I use this tool in shade 2 when I do makeup for Svetlana Bondarchuk.
Powder

On set, I recommend using loose powder. The makeup artist evens out the face with tones and concealers, so the task of the powder is to matte the desired areas and prepare the skin for a dry correction. My favorite loose powder is Sensai's Translucent Loose Powder. I never let you down! It is invisible on the skin, while it perfectly mattes and makes the skin well-groomed and velvety.
Lips

Shooting is the perfect excuse to use pigments! But before applying them, it is important to moisturize your lips well. At the beginning of the makeup, I apply a thick layer of a moisturizing balm (here I told you which products I use), then I do makeup and after 40 minutes, getting to the lip makeup, I remove the excess balm and start drawing the lips.
You can just draw the lips with a pencil. The result is a long-lasting matte fashionable effect. For pigments, I recommend Becca and Occ (Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics).
