Strobing
If you get the hang of highlighting the cheekbones the way the Instagram divas demonstrate (I am against the trends from this network, there are practically no living faces left there), it will not be difficult for you to master strobing. Previously, you focused on the dark areas, now turn to the lighter ones: you sculpt the facial features by highlighting the glow.
Everything is logical here: when you darken something, this area visually goes deeper, its volume decreases. When you highlight or highlight certain areas, they increase noticeably. Such visual deception plays into our hands!
Now imagine that this pattern works not only with light but also with radiance: a wet texture will always appear convex compared to a dry one. This is how strobing works: create volume in the protruding areas and forget about the shadow areas - due to the contrast, they will look smoother and naturally fade into the background.

A simple truth: the human eye highlights bright, such areas seem to us more voluminous. Imagine a dark fabric with a bright flower: the element seems close and voluminous, the background fades into the background. All draping is based on this effect.
My favorite trick is to take a few blushes, for example, combine a cold pink (I have a cream blush HD Blush 210 or 220, Make Up For Ever) and a warmer shade (my option is a universal blush from the Pro Sculpting Palette, Make Up For Ever, go to everyone). Apply pink on the “cheeks” themselves, emphasize the cheekbones with warmer ones - it will turn out harmoniously and very fashionable. Attention!
