Hyaluronic acid
One of the most popular and well-studied ingredients in cosmetics and injection techniques. Previously, hyaluronic acid was made from animal products. Now it is biosynthetic and goes through many stages of purification, which guarantees its high safety. A molecule of this polysaccharide attracts up to 500 water molecules. Moreover, the size of the molecule is different. For example, high molecular weight does not penetrate deeply, remains on the surface of the epidermis and prevents water loss. Most often, this is contained in creams from the mass market, budget funds. A smaller or low molecular weight molecule is able to penetrate deeper and be distributed in the stratum corneum. And there are products with a special hyaluronic acid encapsulated in special carrier molecules. This hyaluronic acid will nourish the entire epidermis.
Glycerol
Quite a controversial ingredient, but still, without it, it is difficult to build a normally working system for moisturizing the skin. It can be obtained artificially or from plants. With its help, water enters the cell, and also forms the normal protective barrier of the skin. For many reasons, the barrier can be compromised and lead to skin dehydration. Creams with glycerin effectively deal with this problem: they form a film on the face and thus retain water. In addition to these properties, glycerin acts as a stabilizer (maintains the structure and consistency of the cream) and an emulsifier (prevents stratification of the components of the composition).
Urea
A substance of organic origin, a natural preservative and a conductor of other ingredients deep into tissues. Getting on the surface of the skin, urea draws water from deep layers and directs it to the upper ones. As a result, flaking and a feeling of tightness disappear, the relief on the skin is smoothed, wrinkles become smaller.
