In March, Cara Delevingne appeared at Paris Fashion Week with a new hair color - ash blonde. The actress and model parted with a new hairstyle very quickly (in April she already published a photo without hair), but the ashy shade managed to change the strawberry blond on the pedestal. Star colorist Tanya Shark told how to choose the right "gray" and keep the trendy color stable.

How to choose a shade?
Colored hair is still a challenge. Few people can afford the classic gray that most people think is gray. My opinion: if a girl is young, such a gray-haired looks very cool!
Now there are many shades of ashy blonde: gray-blue, lilac, pink. These are such exaggerated colors that leave gray hair. This is a new round of fashion, the next stage in the development of color.
After dyeing an ash blonde, the complexion should be delicate with a pink or peach blush. Coloring did not work if after that you see pale skin and blue bags under the eyes in the mirror. It doesn't suit anyone. Sometimes a girl has golden skin, but there are bruises - after staining in an ashy blond, they will be more noticeable.
You need to trust the master. I look at the client and try to find in his skin color "serine" with a lilac or pink tint. If there is, then an ash blond will suit him.
How is ash blond made?
Usually, the hair is bleached with powder and painted over in a cold shade. If you don't completely discolor the strands, the natural pigment (yellow or yellow-orange) will mix with the dye to create a neutral and sometimes dirty color. Of course, a professional should do bleaching, because if you overdo it, the hair will be porous and the gray tint will wash out of it instantly. I always say: “Professional cosmetics come with a professional”.
If your hair is badly damaged, I do not recommend experimenting. It is clear that we use plexuses to protect repeatedly repainted strands, but if the case is a "pipe", they will not help.
How to keep the color?
Ash blonde needs to be maintained at all times, especially if you go to the pool. In one visit (even with a hat) you can wash off 50% of the shade. After staining, use purple shampoos, conditioner and mask. I recommend the Blond Me line for blondes. In it, in addition to a lilac shampoo of a saturated shade to maintain exactly a cold color, there is a purple conditioner spray and a mask.
If you want a very cool shade with a lilac undertone, try Bonacure Color Freeze Silver Shampoo.

Apply a tint foam once or twice a week to restore the ash pigment. For example, Expert Mousse from Igora Royal has two suitable shades: 9.5-1 - ice cold blond, 9.5-12 - for gray, pale pink blondes. Foam works as a care (it contains conditioning components), but for the best effect, use an additional conditioner spray.
If you go to the sea, swim in the pool and do not plan to use special treatments, the color will last for a week. If everything is done correctly - about a month before the next staining.
If after gray you want to return to a natural color, the master may not lighten the hair again, but apply the pigment on top, because it is already working to "darken".
