The theme of the American Costume Institute's Met Gala 2017 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art was the work of the avant-garde designer of the Comme des Garçons brand, Rei Kawakubo. We present to you a selection of stars who clearly overdid the avant-garde. For us, the images were commented on by Elena Krygina's student, makeup artist Anastasia Cherenkova.

Thandie Newton

I don't think Rei Kawakubo would appreciate Tandy's image. In addition to glitter and artificial colors, like from Ikea, the actress is spoiled by smoky eyes up to eyebrows with active shading in the inner corners of the eyes.
Rita Ora

Rita Oru was let down by her curly hairstyle (or rather a helmet?). The singer's feminine features have become angular, so the makeup looks like a failure.
Katie Holmes

Katy wears two shades of active shadows - green and blue. I like these combinations, but I would argue with this lipstick! I propose to beat the image with a rich berry shade.
Evan Rachel Wood

Evan's eyes are so thick that they turn into eyebrows (and vice versa). Most likely, makeup artist Evan confessed his love for the Japanese avant-garde, but he probably forgot about his love for the actress.
Selena Gomez

On the red carpet, Selena looked like a princess (arm in arm with the shining singer The Weeknd and in contrast with his ex-girlfriend Bella Hadid in a tight bodysuit). The color of the shadows may fit into this image, but I would not raise them so high!
Lily Collins

Lily Collins seemed to take on the role of Snow White again, only this time in a gothic version. Makeup artist Lily (usually her makeup is done by Molly R., Lancôme) complemented the actress's active eyebrows with a second powerful accent - very, very thickly colored eyelashes - "spiders".
La La Anthony

The actress with the musical name had a bobble with her eyebrows - they are lifted up so that you involuntarily remember the heroines of pin-up comics. I don't think La La wanted to make that impression.
Grace Hartzel

It looks scary! 20-year-old Grace gathered for Halloween and slept until May - I see no other justification for the Metropolitan red carpet look (even stories about Rei Kawakubo's black collections will sound unconvincing).
