8 Perfect Contouring Products

BeautyHack columnist and BeButterfly blog author Yulia Petkevich-Sochnova shared a list of her favorite contouring products.

The search for the perfect sculptor has become as urgent a problem as the selection of "your" red lipstick. But if the question of lipstick has been around for a long time, and, I hope, most have already found it, then the problem with sculptors is more acute, because they entered our beauty routine relatively recently, and so far not all brands have managed to release universal shades that will suit the majority. That is why I want to tell you about eight options that, in my opinion, relate to exactly this!

I'll start with the wonderful Inglot HD Sculpting Powder 505. Its advantages are: great shade, affordable price and ease of use. It turns out exactly that standard gray-brown color that creates a natural shadow on the face, without redheads, redness and other unwanted undertones. It is sold as a separate refill, which can be placed in a magnetic palette or purchased with a case. By the way, the brand has a wide palette of shades for contouring, so if this one suddenly doesn't work, then there is plenty to choose from!

Dolce & Gabbana The Blush 22 Tan has the same shade. I love it for the compact semi-matte golden case, velvet dust cap and a high-quality brush that you can work with, which is a rarity for sculptors!

There is a similar shade in the Smashbox's Step-By-Step Contouring Kit palette, which contains three refills for sculpting the face: the darkening shade itself, bronzer and lightening, without shimmer and shine. All this in a compact, laconic black case that will fit into any cosmetic bag.

Another discovery at an affordable price - the NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette, in which, among eight shades, one is exactly what we are looking for! Together with him - various tones of bronzers and highlighters: there is a place for a soul who wants to visually correct the shape of the face. Refills in the palette are removable and replaceable - in addition, twelve sculpturing "pancakes" are sold with which you can simply replace inappropriate colors or buy out of stock.

I also have sculptor favorites in creamy textures. Among them is the Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Face Palette. It is produced in four color combinations (in Russia there are only two, and both are beautiful, especially 20 Light), where, in addition to the darkening sculptor, there is a lightening matte shade, a highlighter with shimmer and a blush. All have a pleasant texture that melts under the fingers with good pigmentation, easy blending and excellent hold.

Maybelline New York also has an inexpensive but cool sculptor. Master Contour V-Shape Contouring Duo Stick Light is a versatile gray-brown with a slight purple accent, perfect for girls with fair skin. The lilac undertone does not get in the way and does not give the skin an earthy tint, as is the case with the Make Up For Ever 20 Light palette. The stick is divided into two halves - a darkening sculptor and a highlighting highlighter without a shimmer.

I will conclude the selection with a couple of Kevyn Aucoin The Sculpting Powder Medium and Kevyn Aucoin The Creamy Glow Duo 4 Sculpting Medium / Candlelight - they are known all over the world among beautygolics, and it's not just that. They have unique shades - gray-brown with a slight green admixture, but don't let that scare you, because in the end you get the perfect colors (in the first case - powdery, and in the second - cream sculptors). For me, they are the best, and not only in shades, but also in the quality of application, shading and pigmentation. It is a pity that they are not officially represented in Russia yet!
