How often can (and should) biorevitalization be done? What preparations are suitable for young and aging skin? At what age is it worth doing this procedure and what result to expect? Star cosmetologist and dermatologist Viktoria Filimonova (@dr_viki) told everything you need to know about biorevitalization.

Victoria Filimonova
Dermatologist, cosmetologist, trichologist, laser therapist
She graduated from Ryazan State Medical University, received specialization in dermatology and cosmetology at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, in laser technologies - in RMAPO, in trichology - in IAT (International Association of Trichologists). She completed internships and dissection courses in Germany and France, numerous courses on injection. She is proficient in the techniques of chiromassage, Japanese massage Kobido and French Joel Siocco.
The main task of biorevitalization is to moisturize the skin
Injections of native unstabilized hyaluronic acid stimulate fibroblasts, restore the dermal matrix, create a hydroreservation in the dermis and have an antioxidant effect.
Biorevitalization does not correct wrinkles
Don't expect miracles from biorevitalization. Its task is to create a hydroreservation (moisturize the skin), but it will not smooth out wrinkles.
Biorevitalization can be done from the age of 30
If you have dry skin, at the age of 25-28 you can safely do the first procedures. But I still advise you not to rush with biorevitalization if there is no urgent need for it.
Biorevitalization is done as a course
On average, one procedure is performed every two weeks. One course consists of 4 procedures.
After the course of biorevitalization, do supportive procedures
The effect of the course of procedures is enough for six months. After a course of biorevitalization, I advise patients to do one maintenance procedure once every 3-4 months.
There are not so many preparations for biorevitalization

There are not many certified drugs on the Russian market, and they all have the same effect. In addition to hyaluronic acid, the preparations may contain peptides, amino acid and vitamin complexes. Based on the indications and age, the doctor will select the best drug for you from the line available in the clinic.
The effectiveness of biorevitalization depends on your age
The older we get, the less the skin's response to hyaluronic acid injections.
Starting from 38-40 years old, it is very important to pay attention to the composition of the injections - amino acids, peptides and other components will be an excellent addition.
After the onset of menopause, without hormone replacement therapy, you should not expect strong results from injectable drugs.
On critical days, biorevitalization can be more painful
The effectiveness of the procedure does not depend on the cycle. Therefore, it can be done on critical days. But keep in mind that at this time you may have an increased pain threshold. Also during this period there is a risk of getting bruises from the procedure.
The procedure has contraindications
First of all, these are standard contraindications: fever, epilepsy, malignant tumors and autoimmune diseases. As well as any infectious and inflammatory processes at the site of the procedure. In some patients, individual intolerance to the composition of the drug is possible.
Biorevitalization is legally prohibited for pregnant and lactating women.
If there are moles on the skin, the procedure is not prohibited

Moles cannot be injured. Biorevitalization can be carried out next to them. But it is impossible to inject the drug through them, to injure with a needle.
It is normal if bumps remain on the skin after the procedure
High molecular weight hyaluronic acid in the form of a gel is injected into the dermal and subdermal spaces, leaving papules or bumps on the skin. This is normal and happens to everyone. The papules usually go away in 1-3 days. The rate at which the papules leave the face depends on the hyaluronidase enzyme, the dehydration of the skin, the drug itself and its molecular weight.
The biorevitalization of the face, neck and décolleté takes three syringes of the drug on average
Of course, one 1 ml syringe may be enough for one procedure, but if we work with the neck, face and décolleté, I'm afraid we won't see the effect. It is better to take another syringe of the drug for each new zone.
There are 2-3 ml preparations - they are just enough for the face, neck and partly décolleté.
There are preparations for young and aging skin

The main component that improves the condition of young skin is hyaluronic acid. JaluPro, Juvederm Hydrate, IAL System and others are used to moisturize young skin.
In addition to hyaluronic acid, preparations for aging skin contain peptides and amino acid complexes. These are "Mezovarton", "Mezoxanthin", "Aquashine". But when choosing a specific drug, it is important to take into account the indications and the task at hand: moisturize or repair the skin.
Biorevitalization is an expensive procedure
The drugs themselves have a high price, so biorevitalization cannot be cheap.
Before the procedure, the doctor collects anamnesis, identifies contraindications, then you sign an informed consent for biorevitalization. Do not hesitate to ask the doctor all the exciting questions.
Make sure that the drug is opened right before your eyes. So you can be sure that you are injected with the exact drug you need.
After biorevitalization, a stick with information about the drug used is pasted into your medical record.
The procedure does not take much time
It all depends on the speed of the doctor's work and on your sensitivity, but on average, it takes 10-15 minutes to administer injections into one zone. The procedure does not require special preparation.
Anesthesia is done before biorevitalization
In most cases, a local anesthetic is used - the certified drug Emla. There are other, stronger anesthetics, but they are not certified. Those with a low pain tolerance can safely do the procedure without anesthesia.
Some areas on the face are especially sensitive to injections

The most sensitive areas are the chin, nasolabial folds, zygomatic region and between the eyebrows.
The visible result is noticeable after the second procedure
You will notice the first visible result after the second procedure, and the final one after the fourth. Often after the first procedure (especially during the heating season) dryness can be observed, but it quickly passes. The skin becomes more elastic and hydrated, and a healthy glow appears.
It is better not to do biorevitalization in the heat
Biorevitalization has no seasonal restrictions, you can inject at any time of the year. But in summer, in the 30-degree heat, it will definitely be unnecessary.
Biorevitalization is not done for acne
If the patient has acne, the doctor will not suggest hyaluronic acid injections. If the skin is problematic in the past and dehydrated now, then injections can be done. Such patients are divided into two groups: for someone, hyaluronic acid helps a lot and even reduces the amount of inflammation, while for someone, on the contrary, fat content increases.
Biorevitalization will not solve the problem of scaling on the face
Lamellar emulsions based on ceramides and fat-soluble vitamins will cope with this problem much better.
After your procedure, do not cancel traditional home care

If you did biorevitalization in the morning, then in the evening you can allow traditional home care, giving up only masks. But if you visited a beautician in the evening, I advise you to stop using nourishing face creams on this day.
After the procedure, you can have a collagen mask done by a beautician
The injection sites are closed in a few minutes, therefore, as additional moisturizing, you can immediately apply a collagen mask and red led therapy to enhance the effect of the injections.
After biorevitalization, it is not recommended to go to the bathhouse, sauna and solarium
And after the procedure, I do not advise you to rush to bask in the sun. Although many people like to do biorevitalization and immediately fly south. Allocate at least a couple of days to recover.
Eliminate sports for three days
Biorevitalization is a traumatic invasive procedure with damage to the skin. There are many punctures on the face, so I advise you to limit any training to three days. If you work out intensively in the gym ahead of time, the wounds can become inflamed.
Allergic reaction as a side effect

If you have an intolerance to the drug, then an allergic reaction is possible. However, it is extremely rare.
Biorevitalization is compatible with other procedures
Biorevitalization can be combined with other procedures by a beautician, taking a week break between them.
Often, biorevitalization is combined with laser resurfacing. First, laser resurfacing, then, if the patient does not have the opportunity to inject platelet-rich plasma, a week later - biorevitalization.
Before laser resurfacing, the skin is additionally prepared with hyaluronic acid injections.
