Thinking over the New Year's menu, consider our recommendations on the selection of products. BeautyHack, together with Svetlana Rimarchik, a gastroenterologist at the Seventh Heaven Medical Center (Minsk), reviewed 10 products incompatible with alcoholic beverages.
Fresh tomatoes
Organic acids found in tomatoes can have a negative effect on the walls of the stomach lining. When combined with alcohol consumption, this can cause indigestion or bloating.

Chocolate
Chocolate combined with alcohol is bad for the pancreas, blocking ducts and causing spasms.
Legumes and nuts
With a large number of positive properties, legumes and nuts lose them when combined with alcohol. They turn into simple heavy food that the body has to process with difficulty and not get any benefit from it.
Melon
Just know that melon, when combined with alcohol, acts as a laxative. By the way, the same effect can be achieved by eating a melon with milk or fermented milk products.
Grapefruit
Grapefruit blocks liver enzymes responsible for the breakdown of poisonous, toxic substances that have entered the human body with alcohol. This fruit interferes with the cleansing process, and alcohol remains in the human body in an undiluted form for a long time. This leads to alcohol poisoning even among those who allowed themselves a glass of champagne for a holiday.

Mango
The acids in mango irritate the stomach lining. Add to that the effects of alcohol and you have colic, diarrhea, and bowel problems.
Sweets
Instead of processing alcohol, the body will first of all take to sweets, trying to extract glucose from it. Then insulin will be released, and you will feel drunk, which can turn into alcohol poisoning.

Spicy sauces
Spicy hot sauces, and in normal situations, will worsen the work of the gastrointestinal tract, and alcohol consumption will only aggravate the situation.
Green salad
In the hopes of reducing the calories from your dinner, you opt for a salad instead of high-protein chicken or tuna. This is a deliberate mistake, since the salad is digested very quickly, that is, you will drink alcohol almost on an empty stomach. While digesting protein for a long time will slow the rise in blood alcohol levels.
Lentils
Red wine makes it difficult to absorb the iron in lentils. This is due to the presence of tannins in the wine.
