Scientists from Tel Aviv University have come to the conclusion that systematic neglect of breakfast is not only dangerous to health, but also affects our genes.

A new study by scientists has confirmed the danger of skipping breakfast - such a habit can lead to obesity, hypertension, type 2 diabetes and cause cardiovascular disease. For example, Tel Aviv University professor Daniela Yakubovich proved that breakfast directly affects our internal "genetic" clock, which helps regulate glucose and insulin levels after meals.
Professor Yakubovich also came to the conclusion that ignoring the morning meal leads to changes in genes:
“Research has shown that eating at the right time induces correct gene expression, leading to improved glycemic control. Breakfast before 9:30 am has a positive effect on metabolism and helps you lose weight."
In her study, the professor recruited healthy patients and people with overweight and even diabetes - all of whom took part in a two-day experiment. On the first day, the participants had breakfast and lunch, and on the second, they only had lunch. As a result, on the day when the patients were offered only lunch, the blood sugar spikes were determined, which proved that refusing to eat breakfast leads to weight gain, even if you do not overeat during the day.
