Exchange leave

I want to revisit the romantic comedy with Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet not only on New Year's Eve - the story of two girls who decided to change houses fits well into a hot summer evening and under the fluffy snow outside the window. Still, the views of the snow-covered small town and the cozy house of the heroine Kate Winslet are very inspiring to go somewhere far away from the stone jungle and see real winter.
A journalist named Iris lives in England, the owner of an advertising agency Amanda - in Los Angeles. Both do not have a personal life, and they decide on a bold act - to switch houses for the duration of their vacation. In general, the plot of this kind film can be described as follows - "how to love life, and at the same time find a guy for Christmas." And guys, by the way, what you need - what are only Jude Law's blue eyes.
Alone at home

The story of how eight-year-old Kevin McCallister was accidentally left at home can be considered an American "Irony of Fate." It is impossible to imagine any Christmas without watching this comedy - this is already a tradition. It premiered a whopping twenty-seven years ago, but Home Alone is still the highest-grossing Christmas film ever.
It makes no sense to retell the plot in detail - a little boy deals with robbers who decided to ruin his Christmas. It is noteworthy that the older the audience of the film becomes, the more they feel sorry for the bandits themselves - remember the red-hot doorknob and the paint cans flying down the stairs! But seriously, this is a great family movie, which, fortunately, has an equally successful second part.
Real love

This Richard Curtis film is more about love than Christmas. But all events take place on the eve of the holidays, so "Love Real" is imbued with the spirit of the English Christmas Eve. In the plot, nine separate love stories of completely different people are intertwined at once - from the prime minister played by Hugh Grant (the permanent companion of all British melodramas) to the writer, the hero Colin Firth, who survived the betrayal of his beloved.
By the way, it was the cast that made this romantic comedy one of the most popular - where else can you see Liam Neeson falling in love with Claudia Schiffer?
Bridget Jones's Diary

All parts of the epic about Bridget Jones can be watched endlessly - both in winter and in summer. But the story begins just around Christmas - and here I remember a quote from another romantic comedy Sex and the City: “It was not love at first sight, but it was love.” This is how a bore in a funny sweater with a deer can turn out to be the man of your dreams.
The brilliant play of Renee Zelweger, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant makes you laugh to tears, empathize with their heroes, and understand that after thirty, life is just beginning!
Family man

What would you choose - wealth or love? Jack Campbell chose the first and was left all alone - but Christmas miracles put everything in its place. One morning Jack wakes up and realizes that he has a wife, two children and a dog, and he does not work as the president of the company, but as a tire salesman.
Traditionally, at the end of the film, the main character has a rethinking of values - he again achieves success at work and becomes a wonderful husband and father. In general, the film is touching and romantic in an American way - and is great for finally feeling that very festive atmosphere.
Four Christmases

At the box office, the slogan of the film is no coincidence that the phrase “For them holidays is a real nightmare”. For the young couple, played by Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn, Christmas dragged on painfully as they had to pay a visit to their divorced parents, that is, four separate families.
The comedy is a must-see if you have been planning to visit your family for a long time, but the thought of traveling to Fiji warms your soul more.
While you were Sleeping

Lonely Lucy works on the subway and is afraid to meet the man of her dreams, whom she sees every morning. One day she saves his life, but he is taken to the hospital unconscious. It is there that a large and noisy family of a stranger takes her for a bride - as you already understood, Lucy does not mind. The heroine becomes attached to her family - especially to the brother of her newly-made "groom".
A romantic comedy starring Sandra Bullock tells us about the vicissitudes of fate - after all, we sometimes dream not about what we really need, and we have to choose between a fairy tale and real love.
Chrismas story

Do not confuse this film with the animated film adaptation of Charles Dickens - there is no Scrooge, Christmas Spirits and Victorian rigor. But there is a very positive and kind story about how a boy who lost his parents became Santa Claus.
In order not to leave the orphan to the mercy of fate, the inhabitants of a small Lappish town decided that the boy would live in each family in turn - from Christmas to Christmas. And little Nicholas, in turn, understands that every child should receive a gift! In general, the film is a concentrate of kindness, snow-covered villages and deer. Highly recommended for family viewing.
Santa Claus

A Christmas comedy starring Tim Allen will make you feel like a child who believes in miracles. Seriously, after watching, I just want to look out the window at night and see - what if the cherished reindeer team appears in the sky?
The main character one day accidentally becomes the culprit of Santa's own heart attack - in order to make amends, he has to work for him. The son of the hero really likes such an unexpected development on the career ladder - and together they save Christmas. The curtain.
Noel

The American drama "Noel" (translated from French - Christmas) is not suitable for watching during a noisy feast in a large company of friends, it should be watched in silence, with a cup of hot tea in hand and, preferably, in a warm bed. And then the festive mood will not be long in coming.
The meaning of the film is simple: miracles happen, the main thing is to believe. The heroine of Penelope Cruz decides to leave her lover after another scene of jealousy and moves to her relatives. There she meets an unusual woman named Rose (played by Susan Sarandon). She makes the main character think about what she wants from life and whether her dreams can come true on the eve of the holidays. Do you know what you want after watching Noel? At the very least, go to New York for Christmas.
