American neuroscientists from Columbia and California Universities conducted a study and made a new discovery - our body has "anxiety" cells that make us feel anxious. Let's tell!

The news about the study by American scientists was published in the journal Neuron. The results were also posted there, which proved that you can cope with anxiety and stress without much effort.
A scientific experiment was carried out on mice - neuroscientists recorded their activity in the hippocampus (the region of the brain responsible for memory, learning and emotions) in various states. When the animals were in scary places for them - open areas where it is difficult to hide from predators - part of the brain reacted briskly to stress. In this area, neurons were actively turned on, which scientists called "alarm cells."
The researchers conducted an additional experiment and applied a technique in which neurons are controlled by light - as a result, it turned out that these cells can be controlled. Jessica Jimenez, one of the authors of the study, is convinced that a person also has such cells, which means that specialists will be able to use light to affect neurons in the human brain and minimize anxiety.
