The BeautyHack editors have watched the Lion King remake and want to speak out. Caution: Spoilers!

It has been 25 years since the original Lion King came out. The cartoon was first shown in 1994. In general, the picture is true to the original, but there are a couple of important differences. One of them (and most importantly) is the stellar "cast". The main characters are voiced by Beyoncé (Nala), Donald Glover (Simba), James Earl Jones (Mufasa also spoke in his voice in the original cartoon).

Maximum realism

Thanks to computer graphics, the new "Lion King" looks as realistic as possible: from local landscapes to images of animals. Sometimes it seems that in front of you is not a picture based on a children's cartoon, but a National Geographic documentary film. Looks awesome!

Such realism adds gloom to the new "Lion King". Needless to say, all the turning points of the film (which you already know) turned out to be as dramatic as possible due to this.

Nala is one of the leading characters in the remake

In the cartoon, Nala is remembered by us as a very romantic, deeply sensual nature, which plays a secondary role in the story. In the remake, the lioness is a real (sometimes fierce) warrior, on whose actions the fate of all heroes depends.

In an interview with The Associated Press, director Jon Favreau said that Nala is a very powerful character with a big heart: "I wanted her to be flexible, to demonstrate her strength."

Scar and hyenas look more intimidating

Scar's character is basically scary even in the original. In the remake, the creators deprive him of evil green eyes, but they add a rude tone and stoic expression that shows him as either a villain or a madman. And his song Be Prepared is rather a dramatic monologue.

Hyenas also look more dangerous and daring than their animated counterparts. In the remake, they unite into a real clan of rebels, which are really worth fearing.

There are new songs in the remake

And that's what really creeps out. Beyoncé's song Spirit accompanies Nala and Simba on their way home. The singer's video for this composition is also no less beautiful.

The remake included most of the original songs (only Scar's Be Prepared has changed).
