New text by BeautyHack columnist Tatyana Yakimova.

Each of us was once told something that deeply touched a living. I have two words: "usually".

There was in my life the chief accountant of a large state-owned enterprise, who once drank a couple of glasses and said, as she cut it off: “People like you, Yakimova, AS A RULE, giggle during the day, and cry in the pillow at night. And they stay on the beans."

The other women at the table looked at me sympathetically, but said nothing. The chief accountant after all. An influential person. And influential people are better off not objecting - as a rule.

She immediately disliked me, because I laughed a lot, at the age of 33 did not have a husband and children, and most importantly, she wore a skirt backwards. Shame and disgrace.

And so she decided to tell me everything, but without rudeness, but short and weighty.

After these words, I never cry into my pillow at night, although I have not stopped giggling. And I hated "as a rule", although I like "stay on the beans". Sounds funny.

In addition to family and proper respectability, there was not much in my life at that time: favorite work, money, clothes and my own home. What happened? A rented apartment, mom and dad are a professor, living their lives on the other side of Moscow, a couple of loyal friends, some unnecessary romances, a salary that was just enough for this apartment, and the only jeans-bananas. Well, and a bright personality. The main wealth, if you believe the books. And I believed them sacredly. And I'm not alone. The chief accountant also believed, however, our books were different. It was believed that the USSR is the most reading country in the world, but at the same time, ninety percent of the population has a lot of prejudices.

I had no right to laugh as an unmarried woman with a skirt backwards. I had to cry at night.

And I, an infection, did not want to feel like a failure.

It was not exactly an exception to the rule - it sounds somehow pretentious, like “ah, everyone is gray, and I'm white” (or black, the main thing is not like everyone else). Just carefree, albeit restless. Society pitied the restless and condemned a little, the carefree condemned without pity. Usually.

Now I remember that at 30 I really wanted to find an amazing guy to go with him alone through life and not listen to anyone, but by the time I met him, it was already too late. I used to go through life alone, so the trick lay down. And I still listen to someone. A lot has changed, but I never say "usually". Well, I don't like that adverb. In the books - it's normal, in life - a fake from the category "all women are fools."

Typically, a single girlfriend will swear at your husband. As a rule, a man is obliged to support a woman. Typically, a child who does not listen to adults is poorly educated. As a rule, childless marriage is doomed. As a rule, everyone wants to move from old houses to new ones. As a rule, athletes are dumb, blondes are even dumber, rockers are drug addicts, gays are libertines, husbands cheat, wives check cell phones, cats love a house, not their owners, women are worthless drivers, and supporters of a healthy lifestyle are boring people. As a rule, people do not leave prestigious positions themselves. Typically, success is measured in money. As a rule, ugly people envy the beautiful. And yes, someone else's is always better than your own.

Some of these "as a rule", thank God, are outdated. But not all.

Yesterday I go to one women's site and - bam! Greetings from the past. (I will make a reservation right away: women's sites are different, some I read with pleasure). So, "at the age of 30, a woman, as a rule, has built a career, has a home, family and stability - and it's time for her to think about herself." It is not clear what prevented her from thinking about herself at the age of 17 or 23, but oh well. Something else hurt me. Why is the 90s rule back?

If you believe the article, then a thirty-year-old woman without family, career and stability is just a downed pilot of some kind. She lived so many years, but did not become a man.

But today in Moscow there are thousands, tens of thousands of such exceptions to the rules! They live in rented apartments, they have not yet reached their career heights, but they work honestly and enthusiastically, families also do not yet, but now they are in no hurry with this (as a rule, hee-hee). I will not say anything about stability in our country. But I will not give offense to thirty-year-olds! They are quite young: thirty is the new eighteen. They learn a third language and go in for sports, are able to maintain a conversation on any topic, rush to theaters and exhibitions, go to meetings, travel, build relationships, cook gratin and Thai noodles … They are strong, purposeful, beautiful, they will have everything. Everything they need.

And let the "chief accountants" of the whole world go and drown themselves.

Well, or just cry into the pillow.
