Depilatory cream

Depilatory cream is the simplest and most painless solution to the problem. The main thing is to use a product intended for use on the face, otherwise there is a risk of getting serious burns, after which fluff on the cheeks will no longer seem to be a problem.

Do not forget that the cream splits not only the hairs, but also the top layer of the skin, so remove the product a couple of minutes earlier than stated in the instructions, using a scraper or soft cloth. From strong friction, wounds can appear on damaged skin, which threaten to turn into age spots. A significant disadvantage of this method is that ideal smoothness will not last long, since the hair follicles remain in place. Owners of sensitive skin should be careful even with a specialized cream: according to dermatocosmetologist Ekaterina Papava, it can cause irritation, an allergic reaction, peeling and even the appearance of acne.

Wax

At first glance, facial waxing has many advantages: firstly, it can be entrusted to a professional who can quickly and almost painlessly deal with vegetation. Secondly, wax has a long-term effect: the hairs are pulled out by the roots, so you can forget about the gun on your face for a month.

However, there are plenty of minuses. "Hot wax can cause a burn on the delicate skin of the face and lead to inflammation of the hair follicle," the specialist explains, "plus the removal of the gun can further lead to increased density and stiffness of the hair."

The oriental technique of hair removal with a thread has taken root all over the world: it allows you to quickly remove hairs from the root over a fairly large area. According to Ekaterina Papava, the effect of the laser on the skin and the risk of damage to it is minimal. “The device only slightly heats the surface of the epidermis, directing all the energy pointwise to the hairs,” the doctor explains. "In addition, all modern lasers are equipped with a powerful cooling system that eliminates the possibility of burns." To completely get rid of the dark cannon on the face, it will take about 3-5 procedures, but keep in mind that alexandrite and diode lasers do not "take" gray, very light and red hairs. In such cases, a neodymium laser will help, which does not work with the pigment, but with the vessels feeding the bulbs.

A couple of tips

Half the success of any type of hair removal is the right preparation. Use gentle cleansers that restore the skin's PH balance. Avoid damaged skin areas, and if you are taking Roaccutane or using products with retinol and acids, then give them up at least five days before the procedure, otherwise the skin may become severely irritated, even bleeding.
