The BeautyHack editorial team continues to collect beauty predictions for 2017. We have already asked the MAC specialist about the future trends, and now we turned to Kirill Shabalin, the leading makeup artist of Yves Saint Laurent in Russia, for advice. According to Kirill, the year promises to be bright and rich in contrasts: muted lipstick shades will coexist with pink and yellow mascara, and a matte and radiant tone will easily get along in one cosmetic bag.

FACE

Techniques and textures
According to Kirill Shabalin, in the coming year, the trend towards naturalness will strengthen its positions, and makeup artists will continue to look for new techniques and textures for a weightless coating. Techniques like strobing, wet skin effect, draping and sun stripping are boldly taking with us in 2017: the leading makeup artist Yves Saint Laurent uses them often and is convinced that they will come in handy in the spring.
"Sports" leather

“The skin should be radiant, fresh,“athletic”, explains the makeup artist. "This does not mean that you have to give up matte foundation - just do not forget about the highlighter."
By the way, just recently Yves Saint Laurent presented the Le Cushion Encre De Peau with a light shining finish, which is perfect for daily makeup.
LIPS

Gloss and shine
In the new year, matte lipsticks will begin to give way to lighter textures: glitter, mother-of-pearl and glossy shine. It can be either barely noticeable transparent products or dense cream products. According to Kirill, the main shades of 2017 will be floral pink, delicate coral and orange. The ombre lip makeup trend will soon fizzle out, as will hard contouring. “I’ll tell you a secret,” Kirill shared, “next year Yves Saint Laurent will present a new product for lips and cheeks that will create a light gradient without weighing it down.”
EYES

Gray, green and gold shadows
According to the makeup artist's forecasts, complex shades of gray, green and golden shadows (slightly dusty, diluted, washed out) will be in fashion in 2017. Textures can be liquid, creamy and shiny - the main thing is that they are easy to apply and quickly "give" color.
Bright eyeliner
But with eyeliners, there are no compromises: in addition to classic black, the trend will be bright, rebellious shades of pink, lilac, green - for which there is enough imagination and courage! You can shade a little to the shape of the eye or leave a clear line.
Color ink
Life hack from the leading make-up artist Yves Saint Laurent: if you don't have time for complex eye makeup, then just paint your eyelashes with colored mascara. "This trend is progressing," says Kirill, "so extreme shades of mascara like blue, pink and even yellow will not be something shocking in the coming season."
Eyebrows

And again, naturalness
According to Kirill Shabalin, eyebrows should be thick, well-groomed, fluffy and as natural as possible, but for this you have to try. The makeup artist recommends not limiting yourself to one eyebrow product and relying on a combination of shadows, pencils, tints, lipsticks and gels. Choose the products that are most convenient for you and do not be afraid to experiment.
