Swatch: Pencils For Brown Eyes

We continue to match eyeliners to different iris shades. BeautyHack special correspondent Moore Soboleva painted brown-eyed Karina Andreeva and reviewed the pencils that fit her.

Multiplay Triple Purpose Eye Pencil, Shade 05 Full Violet, Pupa

In the previous article, I already wrote about these multitaskers Pupa - for myself I chose a deep steel gray shade, and Karina decided to try dark purple. This is a noticeable, but quite dark color with an implicit blue tint - it seemed to me more dense in texture than its gray-blue counterpart, but it is shaded very easily. The pencil hardens quickly, holds firm and does not smudge.

Kajal Pencil, Feel The Mari-Time, Essence

I love Essence pencils very much, but I have never tried this version - kayals in a wooden case. Kajal Pencil has a thin enough, easily sharpened and not brittle lead, but at the same time the pencil does not scratch the eyelid - excellent texture. True, in one layer the shade turns out to be even, but translucent, so it is better to draw a pencil over the eyelid 2-3 times to make the color brighter. Kayal does not freeze, but he is holding on well.

Semi-Permanent Gel Lip Liner Filler, Funky Tulip, Provoc

The young Lebanese brand Provoc is best known for its super-resistant eyeliner, lip and eyebrow pencil (the brand's assortment also includes foundations, false eyelashes and contouring palettes, but they are not delivered to us). For Karina, we chose a shining lilac shade Funky Tulip, originally intended for lips - but it did not cause any discomfort on the eyes, and the color with brown eyes looks amazing.

Botanical Color Jumbo, shade 03 Scarlet poppy (Coquelicot Mat), Yves Rocher

The most unusual shade from the new Botanical Color Jumbo line is not scarlet, but rather orange. The matte pencils in this series turned out to be less soft than pearlescent pencils, but just as well suited for shading. The intense orange color that so many are afraid of in eye makeup makes brown eyes look hazel - very beautiful. Since it is a jumbo pencil, it can be used not only for the arrow (although it was surprisingly convenient for her), but also as an eye shadow for the entire eyelid.

Soft Eye Pencil, Ocean Breeze, Make Up Store

The wonderful and deeply underrated Swedish brand Make Up Store has a huge assortment of eyeliners in particular. The brand produces a series of hard and a series of soft pencils (this is terribly convenient - it is not clear why other brands do not do this); our today's hero belongs to the soft. Ocean Breeze Metallic Turquoise glides on gently, does not run and cures well over the eyelid. The contrast with the hazel tint of the iris makes the look fresh.

Long-Wear Waterproof Liner, Rich Plum, Bobbi Brown

Bobbi Brown has a tense relationship with vibrant color, and in the new line of pencils, the shades come out with just a hint of color. Rich Plum is one of the most intense: it is still not black with a purple tint, but a full-fledged dark purple. Long-Wear Waterproof Liner are automatic pencils with very thin leads (it will be convenient to draw a clear thin arrow with them) and outstanding durability: it is impossible to shade a line after a few seconds.

Regard Coquet, shade 304, Vivienne Sabo

The domestic brand Vivienne Sabo last year became one of the leaders in the market of decorative cosmetics in Russia - the more interesting it is to try its bestsellers. Regard Coquet eye pencils in wooden cases are available in the most classic colors (Vivienne Sabo is not an experimenter in general); we got a dark blue 304 with a small shimmer. A pencil is not a champion in even application, so in order to achieve an even dense shade, you will have to try, alas. But the color is beautiful and suitable for everyday make-up.
